The corset is designed to go around the torso to a seam in the back that can be used with any kind of enclosure you wish to use.
This pattern is designed to be used with EVA foam (craft foam).
When made with 4mm eva foam, the finished corset "as is" measures: Bust 37" Waist 29" Upper hip 36". If these aren’t your measurements, we have steps you can follow that will help you resize the pattern to perfectly fit your own body.
RESIZING THE BUST:
Every bust is different! I highly recommend creating a paper mock up before using up your final material. I suggest tracing the cup shapes to paper, tape together and adjust the size by reducing darts or adding more paper and darts to create a larger cup.
***optional resizing method***
Another method to get just the right cup is to pattern over a bra that fits you. Make a copy of just the cup using pieces of painter's tape, being sure to label top/side/middle/down. Trace the overall outline of your cup before you remove the tape from the bra. Starting at the bottom of the cup shape, use scissors to cut into the bra pattern until it is mostly flat (this is going to be 3 or so cuts on the bottom and 1 or 2 on the top if needed) and transfer to paper. Create your mockup with paper or scrap material. You might need to make a few adjustments to your own pattern before combining it with the corset pattern. of the cup.
Once that work is done, you will have a pattern you can transfer to your material of choice! Remember that material thickness will need to be considered. For instance, if you are using 8mm eva foam you’ll need to upsize the pattern. This part can sometimes be the trickiest part of the build, but it just takes some time and practice!
