FAQ:

How much material will you need?

To figure out how much material you will need for this project, print the pattern pieces and make a paper mockup. Once you have a mockup, you can calculate how much material you'll need based on the size of fabric or EVA foam that you will purchase. I used 4mm EVA 38 foam for my project, from Coscom Cosplay Supplies. For the belt and skirt I used faux leather. For the Lower Leg Wraps, I used upcycled leather. Unfortunately, I cannot help you determine how much material you will need for this project because everyone's body is different, but a mockup can solve this dilemma!

How should the curly overlay details be made?

Use EVA foam where suggested on most pieces. I carved the details for a more durable overlay on the Belt Back, but everything else was detailed using EVA foam clay. Trace the detail shapes to create a “map” to guide your placement of the foam clay details. Apply EVA foam clay to your EVA Foam armor pieces when the armor is in its final curved form to avoid potential cracking when you shape the EVA foam.

Remember that EVA Foam is thicker than paper, so you will need to account for this when you make an EVA foam mockup.

General Construction Guide:

1. Print these pages on 8.5” x 11” paper and tape together.

2. Cut out the pattern.

3. Adjust the size to fit your own body.

4. To make the opposite side, flip the pattern pieces over and label them accordingly.

5. Make a mockup with the material you intend to use.

6. Make adjustments if needed.

7. Cut out the details.

8. Transfer the detail overlays to the mockup.

9. Adjust the detail overlay to fit your mockup.

10. Make a final pattern with your mockup and trace to your final material.
